Great, I have special task for Python programmers. Hi everyone, I'm Kelly. I was a Software Engineer until getting laid off in January, where I worked predominantly in Python but also did some Access and VBA. I joined this project to contribute Python coding for extensions. But I also am hoping to be able to get involved with some of the C++ work. I haven't done any C++ lately, but I did do some during grad school. Kelly |

Hello everybody, Sorry for my late reply. I was too busy over last two weeks with my office and school work. Lemme give some introduction about myself. I am currently working full time as a software engineering intern. Also, I am working on my master's thesis in the field of mobile ad hoc networks (windows mobile). I have worked on variety of development technologies like .Net, Java, Ruby on Rails, PHP, C, C++ etc. Now a days, I don't work with C++ much and I, quite frankly, miss it. I will be able to devote 4-4.5 hours a week, mostly on weekends. Lemme spend some time with the system and see how I can contribute. I would very much appreciate any pointers from Kami or any other developers. Glad to see you all. Looking forward to working with you guys. Hi chaps, Just joined the project two weeks ago but haven't been able to contribute so far. I have been working for modelling in C++ under Linux for quite several years but not written any "proper software". So this is going to be my first proper project. I spent some time studying the source code but felt sort of lost. I would appreciate for any suggestion about where to start with. Regards, Cheng |

Hi, Such filenames are very strange: sdraw.cfg:Language=en-US.tmp.tmp However since 2.4 release (for 1 year) we are using go-oo build system that makes life easier somehow: http://ooop.wiki.sourceforge.net/developer Please use this from gnome repository. Sorry for the delayed answer. Here you should adjust several configure options to make it buildable so we created OxygenOfficeWindows distribution to make life easier. Hi all. I'm a C++ software developer with 3 years experience, looking to do some more dev on my spare time. I started by checking out the main trunk with turtoise-svn from "svn:// svn.services.openoffice.org/ooo/trunk" and got this error: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Added: C:\...\ooo\trunk\helpcontent2\source\auxiliary\mai\sdraw.cfg Error: In directory 'C:\...\ooo\trunk\helpcontent2\source\auxiliary\mai' Error: Can't move Error: 'C:\...\ooo\trunk\helpcontent2\source\auxiliary\mai\sdraw.cfg:Language=en-US.tmp.tmp' Error: to Error: 'C:\...\ooo\trunk\helpcontent2\source\auxiliary\mai\sdraw.cfg:Language=en-US.tmp': Error: The parameter is incorrect. Finished!: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (I'm on a Vista basic machine.) Is this a common problem? Is there any known solution? Thanks. |

I have a small suggestion. make an ISO file in addition to your downloadable EXE that includes an autorun file. the autorun.inf file should be in the root directory of the ISO file along with the exe and should contain the following: [autorun] OPEN=OOo_3.0.1_090128_Win32Intel_install.exe what this does is make a cd that automatically runs your program when it is inserted into the drive (windows). try out http://sf.net/projects/cdrtfe which includes a decent build of windows version of mkisofs. If you want to make ISO's larger than 4GiB you will have to use iso level 3, so I use it by default anyway. graft points is multisession. you will need to copy the cygwin directory into the cdrtools directory to make the progfram work from a command-line. make a .cmd batch file out of this: "c:/program files/cdrtfe/tools/cdrtools/mkisofs.EXE" -o OxygenOfficePro3.0.1.3.iso -iso-level 3 -joliet -rational-rock -joliet-long -allow-multidot -allow-leading-dots -graft-points -volid "OxygenOffice3013" -appid "Oxygen Office Professional 3.0.1.3, includes templates and plugins and OpenOffice 3.0.1 installation" -preparer "Joe Shmo js...@no..." -publisher "http://sf.net/projects/ooop" c:\projects\OxygenOffice-3.0.1.3\release\win Jim Michaels jmi...@ya... http://JesusnJim.com |

Hello! It is perfect time to translate OxygenOffice Professional (ooo-build) extra strings to your language. We would be very glad to see you to help our work. I hope you are familiar with po (gettext) files. Then just grab ooo-build-<yourlang>.po file and translate it. http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/ooo-build/trunk/po/ After the translation just send it back to me, and I will put the file to the right place. Best regards, KAMI |

Hi! This is a quick poll: Who want to translate OxygenOffice Professional's homepage (http://ooop.wiki.sourceforge.net/) into your language? The naming scheme should be: (pagename) -> (pagename)_<your language id> Example: main -> main_cs-CZ main -> main_hu I hope I can find some contributor here. Today I will update the page and make the necessary updates. Also I or our deal contributors will add information about new things in OxygenOffice that cames from OpenOffice.org 2.4 and from Novell coordinated ooo-build. Dear Developers, Translators, Users! - Knock! Knock! - Who is there? - It is OxygenOffice Professional 2.4. Now, after long time of silence I would like to inform you about news around OxygenOffice Professional. First of all, as you probably know we are working hard to move OxygenOffice Professional from vanilla base to Novell's ooo-build system. I proidly report we have successfully built the first version, so if you want to use state-of-art version of OpenOffice.org derivates you should check our lastest build @ ftp.devall.hu/kami/ Currently not all language uploaded because of lack of bandwidth. Of course I can provide builds in your language if you request it. What is the main advantages to using ooo-build system? The build process is much simplier. You can track it here: http://ooop.wiki.sourceforge.net/developer Also we have lots of features (of course in Beta stage) that is not provided by OpenOffice.org. So it is more important to test it more carefully and report bugs. For example we got more import filters (NB: SVG filter is improved much), tuned performance, on Linux we have such rich features like OpenGL effects in Impress (more info: http://www.oooninja.com/2008/02/eye-candy-3d-opengl-transitions-impress.html) and GStreamer media support (with wider range of supported media formats)... Also we have improved Office OpenXML import filters (docx, xlsx, pptx)... I didn't write a full changelog because it lots of time instead of development. Also I am refactoring some parts of gallery. It sounds good isn't it? Now here is the time to help our work. For example you have to update the translations. Please update the translations, the translation kit is now updated, downloadable from here: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=170021&package_id=202806 For translations here is a little help (Impress effects preview): http://www.oooninja.com/2008/02/eye-candy-3d-opengl-transitions-impress.html If you need more information, do not hesitate to ask me. Also I would be so glad if you collect templates for your language. Everybody can test the latest preview releases here: ftp.devall.hu/kami/ Also I am very interested in documentation updates. The current list of wiki pages is here: http://ooop.wiki.sourceforge.net/space/pagelist Please help provide more information in the wiki. Also you can translate the wiki pages to you mother tongue. We are still interested in a cool webpage. The proposal of James is so exciting, so James (and others) can you help me to make it happen? Thank you in advance! Best regards, KAMI PS: For a memo I attach some rules about templates and translation. |
