#47 Representation of Greek characters in LOwriter

Hello,

Why shows lowriter and imath %alpha %beta %lamda as their definition, and not the corresponding Greek character (α β λ) ?

However, this works fine with other Greek characters like %rho, %gamma, %omega (see screenshot).

I use win10 21H1 + LO7.1.4.2 (x64)
I've installed the additional fonts, as mentioned on the imath site.
As font, I use Liberation Serif, which contains α β.

If this problem occurs in standard LO formula (without iMath) then it must be a bug of LibreOffice. You should create a bug report there. iMath uses the LO functionality for rendering the formula.

As a workaround, you can use the "real" characters α β instead of %alpha %beta, that will also work with iMath.

Checked with the latest version of LO under "Windows sandbox", without iMath.
It's a LO problem.

Found the problem.
I use the Dutch user interface, and when I use %alfa , it shows the sign. However don't work with % beta.
I changed the user interface to English(UK) and the problem is solved.
I can use %alpha, %beta etc..
However, it depends ONLY on the 'user interface'. Not on the 'Locale' or other settings under 'Formats' or 'Default Languages for Documents'.
