I wish that after the translator jumps to the next segment its source line is place not higher than the first visible line in the actual translation window of OmegaT.
That's why (others may benefit from my translation procedure as well!)
In order to speed up the translation I use a gaming keyboard with extra programmable keys to use them for one or even series of combined keys like Ctrl-C or Ctrl+N .. as the cost a lot of time.
With is I work like this:
1) I copy many untranslated segments, paste them in the Deepl (or Google translate) window, copy the whole translation of all segments and paste it in the first segment.
2) Now I check (and correct if necessary) this segment, place the cursor at its the (1 mouse click) end and press a special key (one keystroke) that
a) selects all text from there to the segments end,
b) copies and delete that part (Ctrl-X),
c) jump the next segment,
d) paste the clipboard.
This way I translate a segment with one mouse click and one keystroke, reducing the mechanical part to its minimum which allows me to concentrate fully on the translation.
As OmegaT does NOT (why ?) places the source line of the actual segment at the top of its window but above it I need to scroll the text, spending my time unnecessarily.
So I wish that after the translator jumps to the next segment its source line is place not higher than the first visible line in the actual translation window of OmegaT.
If you work with Deepl, you’d better create a segment based TMX with its output and use the TMX from within OmegaT. That would save you a huge lot of work.
