It would be nice if on the member page, where the currently checked out books are listed, we introduce a Function column with a 'renew' link. If the book is <=0 days late (ie not currently late) and no one has the book on hold, this function will check the book back in and check it out again, otherwise display an appropriate error.

If anyone does develop a loans renewal script, I would be especially interested/grateful to know. It is precisely what we require, but I am unfortunately completely incapable of creating such a script: I am merely a librarian without any programing experience ...

If the implementation would check in and check out again, it would also be nice if the popularBiblios report ignores this renewal.
