Here some initial properties for 'instruments':
has_user
has_last_user
runs OS/software (if applicable)
processing_time/timescale
realizes process step
measures
has_parameter_settings
default_settings
has_data_input
has_data_output
has_known_defects/problems/shortcomings
has_placement/environment (external influences)
uses_consumables
has_vendor
has_model
last-checked
used_in_assay_Type
degree_of_automation
throughput_style (highthroughput vs small scale)
part_of_system/plattform/pipeline
... these can be discussed as a first start.
There could be more abstract relations, i.e. to an
'InstrumentationEffect' class (as in EXPO) that describes what
implecations regarding the design princlipe lie in a decision to use a
specific instrument type...
