Thought I'd pass this along. I got Debian Sarge r5 installed on my 1400 tonight. I found (finally) a Linksys 10/100 card that detects as: Asiz AX88190 card (io 0xcd0ee300, irq 24, hw_addr 00:00:00:00:00:00) No MII transceivers found! If I run mii-tool, I get: eth1: 10Mbit, half duplex, no link Yet, I am getting link. I can set the IP address manually and get: ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.2 netmask 255.255.255.252 broadcast 192.168.0.255 up Hw. address read/write mismap 0 Hw. address read/write mismap 2 Hw. address read/write mismap 4 If I try 'dhclient eth1', I get: gre0: unknown hardware address type 778 Hw. address read/write mismap 0 gre0: unknown hardware address type 778 Listening on LPF/eth1/00:00:00:00:00:00 SEnding on LPF/eth1/00:00:00:00:00:00 Sending on Socket/fallback/fallback-net DHCPDISCOVER on eth1 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 3 eth1: interrupt(s) dropped! eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 4c. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: mismatched read page pointers 2 vs 0. eth1: Too much work at interrupt, status 0x40 ... It keeps repeating that until complaining about no DHCPOFFER being recieved. All I can say is I'm totally confused. Also a little curious about the MAC address being blank. Weird. Here's the prod info from cardctl ident Socket 1: product info: "Network Everywhere", "Fast Ethernet 10/100 PC Card", "3,0", "AX88190" manfid: 0x0149,0xc1ab function: 6 (network) I did have to go into the /etc/pcmcia/config file and change the driver from a pcnet_cs to axnet_cs. It just complains that I need to change it anyhow. Let me know what you guys think.. I used to have a Dayna Communicard around here for this thing, but I can't find it anywhere. If I can get this sucker on the network, I'm gonna be a VERY happy camper. Ed I used the 2.4.27 image from the sourceforge website with the Sarge installer. I installed from just the first CD. |
