I've translated nsis to valencian language. Since it
still doesn't have a Microsoft language code, I've used
the code for user-defined language as suggested at the
forum.
Please, add this translation if everything is ok.
I'm in charge of Catalan version of Inkscape. I've been recently told that Catalan has been excluded from NSIS installer software, resulting in my language not being available for the Inkscape installer. As myself, many other Catalan projects will suffer a serious loss in quality by not having Catalan supported on NSIS. This is totally unacceptable.
I want to note that:
a. The original Catalan translation/translator was not involved on the previous discussion, so Catalan didn't have nothing to do with the Valencian issue,
b. Dialects are well supported in all kind of applications; think of Mexican Spanish (es_MX), Canadian English (en_CA), British English (en_UK) and Swiss French, for example. Thus, the reason to not supporting Catalan and Valencian can not be "political issues", since both Catalan and Valencian have to be considered "world languages", not "political languages",
c. Thus, Catalan and Valencian should be treated as two languages. For the Catalan translation, please add back the deleted Catalan translation. For the Valencian translation, please use pere_pasqual's, since it seems to be the most accurate translation for the Valencian language.
Hope this unfortunate issue gets solved soon, it affects too many Catalan people not involved with these discussions.
Kind regards,
-- Xavier Conde

And what about the rest of projects using NSIS? Should we mantain a separate fork for Catalan? Should we ask any single project using NSIS to use our own fork of NSIS? This is unacceptable for any project. Not having Catalan on NSIS will make lots of other projects to exclude Catalan from their installers. Also, Catalan users willing to use a free installation tecnology will find their language not supported, and this will negativel impact NSIS project as well.
Again, I ask you to add back the Catalan translation. The infortunate issue with Valencian has nothing to do with the Catalan translation, and it negatively impacts lots of projects.
We can discuss this issue by mail if you wish: xavi.conde@gmail.com.

Oh yes. I guess that's what we deserve for asking you politely to accept our contribution. Or maybe you're just doing what your bosses told you. So closed and ignored, anyway, peace.

Bernardo, I think we agree that there's no reason for a Valencian translation to be excluded if it conforms with official grammar (i.e. the one taught at schools in Valencia) and doesn't pretend to be a separate language than Catalan. If you have a legitimate interest in that, you can count with my support. Please contact me privately if that's the case.
Anyway, peace, as always.

You can manually include the Catalan language files in your translation.

Ultimatum way overdue. Catalan returns for version 2.30. Every Valencian related ticket will be closed and ignored.

Hi,
