According to nx switch it combines: −nb Do not apply bit depth reduction. −nc Do not apply color type reduction. −np Do not apply palette reduction.
Indeed we are not worried about bit or color reduction if it does not induce a quality loss, right?

The thing here is that even if the image is reduced from 24 to 8 bpp, and the quality is exactly the same pixel-by-pixel, it will be lossless for me.
