This feature "request" is one actually suggested by ChatGPT! During one of its hallucinations, ChatGPT recommended FileOptimizer as a way to bulk-rename files according to their detected file type.
So I downloaded and installed the program, and to my dismay I discovered that there is no "Advanced" menu item where "Rename files to detected extension" is an option.
Looking at what FileOptimizer is already capable of, it seems like a really useful option to include in the program, since it's detecting the file type anyway.
So I'm just gonna come right out and ask: can the option to rename files according to their detected extension be added to FileOptimizer, please?
Thank you so much for your suggestion. Unfortunately, this is not as easy as it seems. For instannce JPEG can be .jpg or .jpeg, while an APNG can be .PNG or .APNG
