Dear netnice developers, I am sorry that I have not been able to contact the list. I have been hooked up with the medical school business in Japan, and have been unable to make any move. Now, I have returned to Pittsburgh and will stay here for a month, to work on the project. BTW, we have been using FreeBSD as a platform of the bootable demo CDROM. But, it is a bit costly to build the bootable FreeBSD, particularly because we need to manually maintain the bundled software, such as X, firefox, etc. So, I would like to make it Knoppix-based this time, and for this purpose, I need a volunteer. Knoppix remastering process is quite straightforward for Linux (debian) users, and will not take a day. Because a spare harddrive may facilitate the processing, I may offer an external HDD to the volunteer, if needed. In the meantime, I will be working on the in-kernel lightweight JVM/JIT project, NVM (Netnice VM), and will try to release the code by April. Because there is no such JVM in public domain, I think the code would be quite usable for many projects, not just limited to our VIFlet system. So, I would really appreciate your help. Please let me know if interested. I will be more than glad to assist you. thanks! -- taka |
