5.6 for real!

The long overdue 5.6 is here. :)

I recently discovered that Debian has been packaging something close to 5.6 for quite a while now, directly from CVS. Since they have more reach than we do, it's a de-facto release. I merged the old BETA-5-6 branch to master, tagged it as REL-5-6, and put the source up on SourceForge.

Best results if you link it against their "libmotif4-dev" package for nicer fonts, though, it seems to work okay with LessTif.

Welcome!

Welcome to the new NEdit home for source development! We're in the process of getting some new development underway, so please bear with us as we decide on organizational issues.

In the meantime, please feel free to submit your patches, and use anonymous CVS to "get used to" working with CVS.
