#683 "Paste column" not pasting columns
First things first: I'm using Nedit 5.6-r1 on Gentoo.
Something is causing my version of Nedit to paste normally instead of pasting in columns as I'm telling it to do.
My procedure is simple.. Copy text(with or without using Ctrl for block selection), and then Ctrl-shift-V to paste everything in the column. Instead it just pastes everything like a normal paste.
I've tried seeing if it had to do with line-wrap and the like but that had no effect on it. I also removed ~/.nedit to see if maybe a setting was causing it but that doesn't affect it either.
I don't think I've set anything like a locale or the like that might affect a text editor. Any ideas as to what else I can try?
I just found "Nedit-ng" and it suffers from the same problem so it seems to not be directly related to Nedit but if anyone has any insights, I'm all ears.
Found the solution. It was my clipboard not copying the line breaks(or something). I had been using parcellite(or so I thought) but when I switched to Klipper, it worked like a charm.
