File selection fails from open/save/save-as dialogs.
In file open, message box is generated upon double
clicking file.
The message is "Please select a file to open"
In file save, the message is "Please supply a name for
the file"
(typing in a name works fine in file save)
In both cases, multiple messages to this effect:
Name: Text
Class: XmTextField
Character '\57' not supported in font. Discarded.
are printed to the terminal. The subject character varies.

My primary font is:
-adobe-courier-medium-r-normal--12-120-75-75-m-70-iso8859-1

Also, directory navigation does not work in either
case. Upon
double-clicking a directory, the dialog flickers a bit
but the new
directory is not listed and the directory list is
unchanged.
Similar terminal message is seen.

Please, use a stable Motif version and report these bugs to
    the OM bug tracker.

Does this also happen with a stable OpenMotif (2.1.30) ?
Version 2.2.2 is broken beyond repair.

So did you try OpenMotif 2.1.30?

Selection not highlighted in dialog boxes
may also be triggered by KDE 3, as stated
in the news section on nedit.org.
    (X resource problem)

Tony, did you try another Motif?
