My goal is to be able to play any sound on my Xp and hear on my Debian. I'm relatively inexperienced, so be gentle.
This is what I have so far:
1. NAS on my Debian Etch
2. NAS of Windows port by Nicolas Escuder on my Xp
What I've tried doing is running nasd -aa on the windows and then running an audio utility like auinfo on the Debian to try and connect to the Windows.
Code:
auinfo -audio tcp/gateway-10s:8000
When I have tried this, though, I'm told that auinfo cannot connect to the audio sever. I know that the hostname is correct, so I'm utlery in the dark as to how to proceed.
Any help at all would be appreciated.

I feel stupid for not trying this in the first place, but all I had to do was substitute the Xp's hostname with its ip address.
Also, the windows port of NAS shipped without cygX11-6.dll, which meant that all of the programs (auinfo, auplay, etc.) except for nasd.exe were broken, and the only way I could find to get a copy of the dll was to download Cygwin and steal from there.
