Thank you!
CDE 2.5.3 Ubuntu 24.04 package
Ok, so I applied these 4 patches (though the patch files themselves mention 6 patches. At any rate, I tried a simple build: ./autogen.sh && configure The result was: configure.ac:33: installing './compile' configure.ac:29: installing './config.guess' configure.ac:29: installing './config.sub' configure.ac:10: installing './install-sh' configure.ac:10: installing './missing' configure.ac:682: error: required file 'contrib/desktopentry/cde.desktop.in' not found configure.ac:682: error: required file...
RFE: make CDE's install layout FHS-clean and packager-overridable (don't hardcode /usr/dt, /etc/dt, /var/dt)
This is a great step, though it will take some time for me to test it and it would be great if others could too. Also, the Chinese locale was recently added, so these might need to be rebased/tweaked to support those too though that could be done as just an additional patch. But I will test it as soon as I can.
Correction: I DO NOT see these actions opening up in dtpad
Hmm. On current master, the action files are indeed installed as 644. But what seems strange is that on my ubuntu system, I do not see these actions opening up in dtpad - they try to actually run the Action "TYPE COMMAND". I had thought that is what was considered when deciding what is data and what is executable. Maybe I'm missing something? Here, I went in to Application Manager -> Graphics -> Xv And this was the result (see attachment):
