[Multignometerm-usability] Characters encoding problem problem

Hi,

I have a problem with characters encoding when I start multi gnome terminal.
I would like to change a locals package settings in order to fix it or
get some script for changing the default settings of the multi gnome
terminal 
before starting it.
Can anybody help?
