Strange problem with Forgotten Ancient
Brought to you by:

Forgotten Ancient has 3 versions, Archenemy, Scourge and Planechase. If I choose anything bug Scourge for the version, the image will show up at first, but "Planechase" or "Archenemy" in the right pane turn to "Mark Tedin". After that, the image won't load, though it will load the first time. But if I change the set and change it back or close Magic Assistant the image won't load a second time. The Scourge version seems to work fine. It also won't load the set symbol after the first time they are chosen, though it will be there until the set changes.

What version do you have?
I just updated to the latest version today and the problem persists. I did notice it the other day on another card, too. I think it's time to download the latest version, rename the folder on my desktop and reinstall. Problems sometimes pop up over time and doing this generally fixes them. I'll let you know.
Okay, I downloaded the latest version that I found in the files, magicassistant-1.4.2.010-win32.win32.x86.zip, renamed the folder and created it new. I already had Forgotten Ancient in the search and the problem persisted. It then updated to the actual latest version, 1.4.2.012 and the problem didn't change. I have attached an archive file with 6 screenshots to show you the evolution. The first one, Pic-1.gif, shows you what the screen looks like right after the search and picking the first of the three cards listed in the results window. The other 5 screenshots show how it does or does not change when I click on each printing in order under the "Printing" section, starting with the top and working down, then starting with the top again (things change multiple times before reaching final state). I hope that helps. If you need me to I can also rename the workspace and reinstall. Maybe it's something with a corrupt database.
Running on Windows XP with Java 8 Update 45. If you need anything else, let me know. Thanks.
What is Mark Tedin? Is this a set your created? Did you even try to
extend database?
When you said you created a new folder was it for workspace or for install? Because you need to try new workspace or re-set database...
I think xml is corrupted. I cannot reproduce it.
To reset these sets, exit MA first.
Open you workspace in the explorer and find magiccards/MagicDB folder
in the folder remove Archenemy.xml, Scourge.xml and Planechase.xml
Remove them. Restart MA.
That didn't work, but it did work to move the entire MagicAssistantWorkspace folder to the desktop, open the program to recreate it, close the program and copy back the .settings, Collections and Decks folders. It was a corrupted XML somewhere. Thanks for the help.
Ah, just noticed this - it's the same problem I just opened with ticket #501.
FYI, Mark Tedin is the artist of the card. I only noticed this issue on Planechase cards, I'll check Scourge and Archenemy cards in my collection.
I may try Asmodee666's solution.
Happens with Archenemy cards, does not happen with Scourge cards - same as the original poster.
Fixed by using asmodee666's solution. Thanks!
Still, same issue, same two sets, seems too much of a coincidence to be a random file corruption.
Let me know if you wish me to send you the bugged MagicAssistantWorkspace folder.
yes if you have corrupted version please send the whole workspace if you don't mind (minus card image cache)
Here it is. Hope it helps.
