Hi Zoltan,

Could you bring back the name of the file (filename only or full path, you decide) in the titlebar of the Msc-generator windows (and optionally suffix the name with * when the file has been edited)? I'm really missing that now!

Kind regards,
Martijn

Hm. For me the file name (no path) shows up just fine. No asterisk for modified status. I will add that. Are there any circumstances when the filename is missing for you or always?

I did some further investigation, and it's weird. If the windows is maximized on my machine, there is no filename in the title bar. If I restore the window size (double click the title bar) then a filename appears, trucated with three dots Current ESB Topology.blo... (despite there is enough room for the filename). Hovering over the application in the task bar also shows the filename Current ESB Topology.block - ... (less truncated), the hovering over the thumbnail that appears shows the filename with the same truncation Current ESB Topology.blo... as in the title bar.

I see. Note that the file name must fit between the right most ribbon category on the left side and the window buttons on the right side. This is why it gets truncated even though there is more space available above the ribbon categories (as the title bar will display certain info for ribbons sometimes). I have added the asterisk, but cannot really fix the truncation issue :-(

To illustrate the issue, I've captured the two situations. The first is the 'maximized window'. The second one is the 'restored window size' version.

Edit: sorry, cannot get the attached image to show up embedded in the post...

      Hi Zoltan,

I discovered that with the latest 6.3.1, with the Quick Access Toolbar
either below or above the ribbon, the filename is visible only if I set the
window style to "Windows 7". All other styles (Office 2007 *) hide the
      filename in the titlebar...

      Maybe this helps with troubleshooting?

      Kind regards,
      Martijn

      Hi Martijn,

I cannot reproduce the error. Can you please try displaying the Quick
Access Toolbar above the ribbon? That changes the location of the filename
(and leaves more space for it when maximized), since it will be on the
right side of the (invisible) ribbon category indicator. (I cannot
reproduce the error irrespective of the location of the QAT.)

I have added the asterisk to indicate an unsaved file, though.

This whole business is governed by the MFC framework from Microsoft and I
have little control over it. Digging into it feels unpleasant to me.
