I´m wondering what the mr in the name mrviewer stands for?
Since it has so many options to read native mental ray formats I thought it was an abbreviation of mental ray.

I have been working with the Imfdisp application so far. It is/was also a very good viewer.
But mrviewer is of course more up to date and more versatile.
Thank you mister. ;-)

One thing about mrViewer is that if you are still using mental ray, it should be capable of monitoring renders in progress if you feed it the mental ray picture stub ( the one that says the host and port to connect to ). This has the advantage over imf_disp that the mrViewer displays the pictures in full float instead of 8bits as imf_disp.

mrViewer indeed was born as a viewer to interactive mental ray renders, but now mr stands for mister,
