This issue is already fixed in source control.  It should work if you
build from the mercurial sources.  I'll try to publish a new release
in the next day or two.

Thanks for your interest!  Indeed, MrFilter can run on Windows.  I
successfully ran it on Windows XP Pro 32-bit.  However, I never succeeded
in building an installer for Windows.  Since all of the code is interpreted
Python, it's pretty easy to run it on Windows.  All you have to do is
install the dependencies.  If I resurrect my attempt at a py2exe based
installer, would you help me test it?  Which versions of Windows would you
be able to test?

[Mrfilter-users] Windows support

Hello,

I am very interested in using Mr. Filter for my personal work, and if i
like the software, i am going to recommend it to several colleagues of
mine. However, I run a Windows operating system, and so do all of my
colleagues. Is this software intended to eventually be compatible with
Windows? If not, what do i have to do to make it work on this operating
system? I have some experience with python, but not much, and even fewer
experience with Unix. If anyone could help me with this matter i'd greatly
appreciate it.

If with your help i manage to get this to work on Windows, i intend to make
a batch file or a C program to automatically do what i had to do to make it
work, or even something more complex if required. Obviously, i'd send back
to the community the end product of this.

Well, my versions of python and pygtk are exactly the same as yours.  All
of the yum-managed packages on my system are up to date as of five minutes
ago, so... that's pretty strange.  I'll try to do a little more research
into this...

I finally got a Fedora 17 VM running, but I can't reproduce this problem.
I have pygtk2-2.24.0-4.fc17 (64 bit) and python-2.7.3-6.fc17 (64 bit) and
the ButterworthBtn group works fine.  Perhaps the newer pygtk package fixed
the problem?

I'm having more issues now that it's up and running.  The problem is that
widget.get_name doesn't seem to return the kind of name you're expecting in
your code.  This seems to cripple most of the program.  Here's an example
of one of the many errors this causes.

Your code is expecting get_name() to return something like 'ButterworthBtn'
or 'CauerBtn', but it instead is returning 'GtkRadioButton', which is
obviously the name of the widget class that the button is an instance of
instead of a string identifier like your code expects.  I've been able to
find at least one other instance of somebody having this problem.  I'm not
sure if it's a bug or a "feature" of the version of pygtk or python

Yep, that's it.  I developed this on numpy 1.3.0.  I just tested on another
machine with numpy 1.5.1 and got the exception.
Try substituting that line for:

if (type(value) == float) and (np.isinf(value) or np.isnan(value)):

You want to be using gdb (the Python source-level debugger) for this.  gdb
will debug the C interpreter instead.  The easiest way is probably to go
into mrfilter_util.py at line 223 and write:
