[Mrbs-general] Installing mrbs

Hello

I am trying to install mrbs.  I believe that I have the database set up
correctly.   However when I try to go to the site in my web browser I get
the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in
/var/www/html/intranet/resbook/mysql.inc on line 204

Could anyone please tell me if this is likely to be a problem with any of
the following.

mrbs  (or my setup and configuration of it)
apache is not properly configured for php support
php is not properly configured on my system

Any help appreciated as I am just starting out.
