We had a similar need, so two days ago I sat down and extended the
monthly view. It now shows all bookings in an area, if no room is
selected. It aggregates all bookings that only differ in the room into
one entry. This works very nice for our booking types (= not very many
parallel bookings, but many bookings that contain more than one room).
Feel free to integrate into mrbs proper, if you think this is generally
useful.
