First I would really like these to be included as part of the MRBS base. If someone has too many rooms in an area - then either scroll over or don't use that feature.
Honestly thought there is probably a better way to implement it. I have 8 different MRBS installs and just completed my last one that does employee tracking. ON EVERY SINGLE IMPLEMENTATION - the first thing out of everyone's mouth - "Can I see all rooms/people by month or week?" Really nobody wants functionality in this mode they just want reporting.
I gave the latest version a half day and I was able to produce an OK view of the all rooms in week but it still had too many errors. MRBS does so much stuff with dates and times that it is hard to figure out all cases. I am pretty good with PHP... not good enough to jump in on the latest version to create new table views - really had a hard time creating the date rows.
So what is the easiest way to solve this? I just set up a folder on the web root called multi. Installed 1.2.1 in this folder. Then copied https://github.com/verdurin/mrbs-mcr/tree/master/mrbsweb/trunk/multiroom files. I had to make some minor changes because of deprecation errors but was working in a few minutes. I had to do a lot of linking back to main site but pretty easy. I know this sounds ghetto but the flow works fine and even if I continued on my one-off views for current version they would soon be stuck in some subfolder when new versions broke it.
Now the last thing on my list is to create an actual day by room grid. I am sure that I am going to have to go "out of the MRBS" system and let this grid be rogue but if anyone has suggestions please comment here. This is a big thing because current all areas in month file that I have shared - you just see everyone room listed under each calendar square. This makes it very hard for admin to tell which room is available for a given time period of a few days or week. Again if the MRBS gods are listening... I don't think anyone has an expectation of this view looking classy or having functionality beyond reporting.
