I'm assuming your refering to L3 VPNs based on RFC2547bis, if so, the answer is no. There is work towards it, but nothing usable. Hi everybody I have just discovered MPLS Linux and I would like to know if it is possible to implement a VPN/IP solution in order to make a demonstration of this technology. Very good point. The ldpd labelspace CLI is cruft leftover from quagga-ldp. It should be removed. The correct place to configure labelspace is in zebra. Ofcourse we need make sure that setting a labelspace in zebra causes the right mesg to be sent to ldpd. Would you like to try making these changes and send me a patch? There probably is still a bug. So the error only occurs when you start ldpd with an existing config. That explains why you're seeing it and I do not. I re-configure ldpd from scratch each time. I will try starting ldpd with an existing config and see what I find. Thank you for your diligent work. Hi James, I think I find the problem that what caused ldpd "Aborted". The problem is in the config file in "/usr/local/etc/ldpd.conf". When I modify the file into below showing, ldpd can run, and there is no = interface delete message showed. ! ! Zebra configuration saved from vty ! 2002/03/23 17:07:30 ! hostname uml-1 password root enable password root The original config file is: (I add the line number in order to explain) 1. ! 2. ! Zebra configuration saved from vty 3. ! 2002/03/23 17:07:30 4. ! 5. hostname uml-1 6. password root 7. enable password root 8. ! 9. mpls ip 10. ! 11. interface lo 12. ! 13. interface eth0 14. mpls ip 15. ! 16. line vty 17. ! There are two error in this config file: 1. In line 9, the "mpls ip" should change to "mpls ldp" 2. Before I modify this file into above style, the error showed again. ldpd: ldp_interface.c:46: ldp_interface_create2: Assertion = `li->iff.index' failed. Aborted I am not sure does this problem related to the source code? Thanks Best Regards Timothy 2005.03.23 |

Hi James, I am trying the latest code now. But I still hit the same problem. I = can't enable ldp on an interface. The command sequence I set was: uml-1# conf t uml-1(config)# mpls ldp uml-1(config-ldp)# trace all uml-1(config-ldp)# exit uml-1(config)#interface eth1 uml-1(config-if)# mpls ip Connection closed by foreign host. then ldp Aborted And the tracefile: [root@localhost ldpd]# ./ldpd addr delete: 0x80b53e8 if delete: 0x80b1fc0 if delete: 0x80b56e0 ldpd: ldp_interface.c:46: ldp_interface_create2: Assertion = `li->iff.index' failed. Make sure to update ldp-portable, I just submitted a fix for a bug where an entity could be 'shutdown' twice, which caused some memory coruption. =46rom the trace you sent it looks like right before this you unconfiged an interface, then configured this one? Can you send the exact command sequence? (in general when you hit a bug, try to send me the exact command sequence that caused the failure and the relative portion of the tracefile.) If you unconfigured an interface and then configured an interface, I think you can look in ldpd/ldp_interface.c at create/create2 delete/delete2 code to start debugging. Did this interface have an IP address configured on it? It is a real interface on the device that is operational? I found a couple of refcnt bugs in ldp-portable. The global and entity lifecycle as controlled by quagga-mpls is looking better. Update your tree, compile, then try the global enable/disable and interface enable/disable tests we talked about many weeks ago. One clarification is that in the p4 depot the directory is called quagga-mp= ls. (there is a quagga-ldp directory, but that is the old non-mpls infrastructu= re implementation). On Thu, Mar 17, 2005 at 11:26:45PM +0800, Timothy\(???x\) wrote: > Hi James, >=20 > I want to make sure the key problem of "quagga+ldp" is not ready for user= s" is that quagga did not have any infrastructure for MPLS. And you finish = this part, but still have some problem. Correct quagga-mpls has the MPLS infrastructure. The ldpd daemon tries to use that infrastructure. There are bugs in the implementation of ldpd 'porting layer'. The porting layer is all of the code that convert quagga info into ldp-portable info and makes the calls to the ldp-portable library. > Could you tell me more concepts about this part, I mean what we need to d= o to let "quagga+ldp" can work on MPLS, what're the main functions we need= to implement. In your tree that you compile from, all of the code in the ldpd directory which is not a symbolic link into the ldp-portable directory is what makes up the porting layer. I think that the majority of the bugs can be found there. Were you able to sync your client? >=20 > Thanks >=20 > Best Regards >=20 > Timothy > 2005.03.17 --=20 James R. Leu jl...@mi... |
