Try adding -DMPLS_LINUX to the make file. Once you do this you will still run into an issue with non-uniform label distribution. I'm working on a fix for this. By using the MPLS tunnel interface you can ingress IPv6 traffic onto an LSP. Currently there is not means to egress labeled traffic to the IPv6 stack. It wouldn't take much work to finish this, if your interested in finishing the work and testing it I can point you in the correct direction. MPLS over ATM use AAL5NULL encapulation. The (empty) shim is placed right after the AAL5 header. The vpi/vci or just vci are the label valued used for label switching. It is poosible to use more then one label (stacking) by placing more generic labels after the empty shim. (ie there is always one empty label= value at the top of the label stack found in an AAL5 frame ... same hold= s true for frame relay). I have read UNIX Networking Programing (written by W.Richard Stevens). There four reasons have been given for using SO_REUSEADDR opt .The code use the opt for which reason? Wish your help!! Hi, I try with CFLAGS=-DMPLS_LINUX and without it. Ldp-portable don'nt work in the two cases! With -DMPLS_LINUX option /proc/net/mpls_in file show "POP PEEK" entries and the others /proc/net/mpls_* are blank. I could'nt establish and LSP like README.sample using ldp-portable. I'm using kernel 2.4.12. If Anyone make it work let me know. Cheers, Morvan. >Today's Topics: > > 1. Hello! I follow the ldp-portable/ldp-linux/README.sample but could'nt establish a LSP to 10.0.0.2/32. I see in ldp_linux prompt messages exchange, but /proc/net/mpls_* files are blank, except for mpls_in that have "POP PEEK" entries. I used the today CVS version of ldp-portable, kernel 2.4.12, patched with the today CVS mpls-linux. Some one in this mailing list have the last CVS ldp-portable working fine, .i.e, could succesfully establish an LSP using it? Cheers, Morvan. |

hi,jim how are you ? Are you busy ? Wish you happy in your life ! Now I have a question to discuss with you. In your code you create a UDP socket to send LDP Link Hellos .This is basic discovery mechanism .In your LDP code you make the UDP socket join a multicast group by setsockopt( ). This work well on ethernet link because the if->destaddr is a multicast group addr. In the case of PPP,you also join a multicast by this way;but in your code the destaddr of ppp interface is not a multicast group addr.So there is the problem . Does I understand your code correctly ? Perhaps you can give me your design of the code. Why your code have a destaddr in the ldp_if_linux struct. What's the use of the data element "destaddr "? Forgive my pool English!! you can also mail me:jh...@ma... your answer! All thanks! your sincerely : zhangjh |

>As far as I know, there is no difference between the ethernet NICs. >If you look at the mpls-linux patch file, it don't concern about the >ethernet NIC drivers. Absolutely.. Just ensure to compile the code of the drivers in the kernel inline than making modules(s). This will ensure there are no surprises when you boot in the MPLS kernel. -abhijit |

I think you should include -DMPLS_LINUX option in CFLAGS to work with MPLS forwarding engine in Linux kernel. As you can see, this option is commented out. Hi, I'm running ldp-portable with an MPLS enabled kernel and have a couple targeted questions about how ldp-portable works. These first two may be related - Why in add_route is dest->out_if_handle left at 0 ? _netlink_fib_callback - what is the eventual intended function of this ? ...and a couple potentially silly questions - What's with the ## args ## in the print and trace macros ? Does Geocrawler have a way to search this list's archive or download the archive ? Or is there a search engine that indexes this (the obvious ones do not appear to) ? Thanks, Dave Ward |
