Hm, I now applied minimal changes to ports/MSVC++/mpg123.h and
ports/MSVC++/config.h as indicated in this thread. Does the current
snapshot http://mpg123.org/snapshot do the trick for you lot on Windows?

PS: I just realized that the next release will be mpg123 version
1.23.0 . After missing the opportunity on version 1.2.3 (1.2.1 got
followed by 1.3.0), I think this 123 moment should be celebrated
_somehow_. Ideas?
