How to create a GPX file and make a selection with this file ?

I created a GPX file with MOBAC using the "Add Wpt" button.
When I choose the command "Add selection around GPX track", I get the answer "No GPX track segment selected".
My question: how do I create these segments with MOBAC?
The GPX format knows two different type of points: way points and track points.
Way points have no order, they are just "points of interest", therefore they can't be used for an area selection. You track points (which form a track) to make an area selection in MOBAC.
