Hello Edward [ Lots of suggestions deleted - not offensive but to save space ] I think there are so many documentations out there that we don't need to reinvent the wheel and copy all this to an "All New" Document. We have mostly up to date manpages We have a fairly good README that describes the functions of the different tools We have the howto that explains how to create movies. There are some minor things that still could be improved, but overall it's a very good Documentation. My guess is: You did'nt read the howto. E.G. you ask for > 2.3 Editing > Edit lists, and tools that can be used to produce them (glav, lav2yuv -S > etc). It's there in the howto and has it's own chapter. How to create VCD, SVCD and DIVX is explained in the howto. What we don't have is an overview of the codecs. But if someone is interested in that stuff he will find without problems a lot of information. The mjpeg-tools are mostly for creating mpeg1, mpeg2 and divx - and these formats are covered in detail with their pro and cons. Vcdimager and cdrdao have their own manpages and are fairly easy to use. But, of course, if you want to create the ultimate documentation... nobody will object :-))) Just my point of view.
