Hi all, just found out that the cpuinfo.sh script turns out to be a bit an ancient one, it returns "core2" on my I7 system. Anyway, do we really need this script? GCC/Linux (since >= 4.?.? is perfectly fine to find processor optimizations all by itself (-mtune=native), but i'm not aware of the others targets. If no one objects, i'd submit following patch to cpuinfo.sh (simply go for native on gcc/Linux systems) Index: mjpeg_play/cpuinfo.sh =================================================================== RCS file: /cvsroot/mjpeg/mjpeg_play/cpuinfo.sh,v retrieving revision 1.22 diff -a -u -r1.22 cpuinfo.sh --- mjpeg_play/cpuinfo.sh 31 Aug 2009 21:59:37 -0000 1.22 +++ mjpeg_play/cpuinfo.sh 29 Dec 2013 12:37:45 -0000 @@ -23,6 +23,11 @@ if test $_cc_major -ge 4; then _opt_mcpu="-mtune" + if test `uname -s` = Linux; then + echo "-mtune=native" + exit + fi + else _opt_mcpu="-mcpu" fi Have a nice new years eve!
