Hi Keith, I did not mean to cause any offence by my signature. As you suggest, it is a corporate policy that requires the signature be appended by default to all emails; however it is enforced on the client and so I do have the capability to remove it manually. Personally speaking, I also believe that email disclaimers are unnecessary for most commercial email accounts. I was just a little surprised by your response as I have been involved in a number of open-source projects over the past 3 years and this is the first complaint I've received over all that time. I don't know whether this is just your personal opinion, or the general opinion of the list, but if most of the list members feel strongly about it, then perhaps it's worth making a note on the lists page? I do apologise if I have offended people (and I don't want to start a flame war), but I am happy to oblige with list etiquette where possible, and have removed the signature from my last couple of posts as requested.
