[Mingw-msys] Problem with MSYS

Hello, I'm a new user and when making Freepop(an Open Source game), I
get this error:

checking boost/filesystem/fstream.hpp usability... no

configure: error: *** boost headers not found!

So, I've downloaded boost1.3.2 but the error continues. Have I got to
put the boost folder in any specific directory? I use WindowsXP.

Please help!
