I tried to use the system tray some time ago, and it was not very
difficult. I remember i found most information somewhere on
msdn.microsoft.com.

I looked for the code i came up with, added some comments to the source,
and uploaded it here:

I think it only works in win98.
It's written in pure C as i don't know C++, and i tried something else
in this test app too, so it's not really good as an example, but maybe
it can help you.
