I think it's better to provide also a binary tarball for these packages. You fetch all packages you need and extract it in one directory you want. So it's very easy to install, upgrade and deinstall your installation like in the past. For example: With tarballs you can do an automatic installation. And you don't need to touch the registry. I've seen that only the Installer use it to create a deinstallation entry. So I think it isn't a big problem to use tarballs only. Thanks...
