If the tarballs still have CVS control files (as evidenced by the /CVS/ folders)
then a simple "cvs update" from within the extract directory may be all you
need.  Otherwise you are stuck with fetching the whole mess.

It depends on whether the tarballs were created with "cvs checkout" or "cvs
export", you see.
