I can't say anything to the problem with not returning program; I have linked your example against the Mumits distribution on my PC under WindowsNt and your program stoped. I also noticed this bug! But the console windows is only open for writing. A better way is to link the c-program with the '-mconsole'-Option, then you get a 'windows'-console which is open for reading and writing.
