I think binutils and gcc can be hosted on ANY system (Unix or otherwise)
and still target Mingw32.......

Now I understand what you meant when talking about porting mingw32 to
debian..! Mingw32 is also a cross compiler under linux!! I've seen I can
download it from http://www.libsdl.org

Is this the right distribution?? Shouldn't it be hosted in www.mingw.org ?
Does it include the winres soft? I guess you can later test your programs
with wine -for instance- hug?
