Hi all First off, despite the small hichups in the 1.0.6 dist, I fell I must congratualte all those involved. It looks better, it feel better and it does more :) I've used msys 1.0.5 for a short while with MinGW-1.1. I did a fresh install today of both, and found it much less complicated... experience, perhaps, but i'd like to blame it on 1.0.6. ;> I downloaded the latest automake & autoconf from GNU today. I'm having problems with installing automake 1.5 though. I started off installing autoconf-2.53. that went fine. Then i did automake-1.6... it complained that i did not have autoconf-2.52 or higher (after i just installed 2.53). Subsequently i moved to automake-1.5 which did not complain. Here is my problem though: automake complains of not being able to find Automake/Struct.pm. one if the search dirs is /local/share/automake, under which the desired files _is_ located. I did a --prefix=/local, otherwise it looks in /usr/local, which i dont have :) Any advise on this front? PS, both installs got stuck in loops when i did a "make install". It repetitively installed the same files over and over again. bye -- Jean le Roux Binary Entropy Catalyst Cellular: 083 505 6443 One could not be a successful scientist without realizing that, in contrast to the popular conception supported by newspapers and mothers of scientists, a goodly number of scientists are not only narrow-minded and dull, but also just stupid. -- J.D.
