Sorry, I made a mistate in last email. Since I forgot to set the mingw/msys/1.0/bin in the system path, the actual msys.batch still call what of cygwin rxvt. But right now my question is: 1. when I use make command it is the same as mingw32 and I got the same error strings.h sys/times.h param.h are not found. So what is the real difference between these two? 2. each time I run the msys.bat, a batch window with some errors like: *********************** ': not a valid identifier ': not a valid identifier ': not a valid identifier ': not a valid identifier : command not found : command not found 'ash: /etc/profile: line 20: syntax error near unexpected token `do 'ash: /etc/profile: line 20: `for i in /etc/profile.d/*.sh ; do ***************************** is this normal? Sorry for I am not familiar with this issue.
