IIRC, David Gressett was following up on this.

Ada is incomprehensible to me, but I was able to reproduce both faults, 
on my Win7 VM, using gcc-ada-6.3.0-1-mingw32-bin.tar.xz installed by 
mingw-get.  I then overwrote the installation with the original tarball, 
as I have it in my crossed-native build/staging tree; both faults went 
away:

  $ gnatchop -w
  try "gnatchop.exe --help" for more information.

  $ gnatchop -w foo.ada
  foo.ada not found

  $ touch foo.ada

  $ gnatchop -w foo.ada
  foo.ada:1:01: warning: file contains no compilation units
  no compilation units found
  no source files written

So, it looks like the original FRS copy of the tarball is faulty.  I've 
refreshed it, by uploading anew, from my staged copy.  Please try that,
either by simply downloading and untarring over the top of your current 
installation, or if you prefer to use mingw-get, you'll need to delete 
its cached copy from C:/MinGW/var/cache/mingw-get/packages (assuming you 
installed mingw-get in its default C:/MinGW path), then reinstall:

  C:\> del c:\mingw\var\cache\mingw-get\packages\gcc-ada*-bin.tar.xz
  C:\> mingw-get install --reinstall gcc-ada-bin

or in MSYS shell:

  $ rm /mingw/var/cache/mingw-get/packages/gcc-ada*-bin.tar.xz
  $ mingw-get install --reinstall gcc-ada-bin
