However, in the original gettext-0.18.3.2-2-mingw32-dev archive, I see both libintl.a and libintl.dll.a, (the former a static library); using that static variant will resolve those symbols without introducing any dependency on libintl-8.dll at link time. I consider it advantageous to the majority of end users, that our distributed packages offer i18n support where practicable, particularly so when the DLL dependency may be avoided by the simple expedient of static linking with libintl.a, (and maybe stripping the resultant EXE or DLL, since libintl.a appears to include debugging info). - -- Regards, Keith.
