Adding -DWINVER=0x0501 to my project fix it. That's because ws2tcpip.h includes winsock2.h which includes windows.h which includes winder.h which define WIN32_WINNT to WINVER. Why not boost default value of WINVER from 0x400 to 0x500 (Windows 2000) in compatibility with VisualStudio 2010 and more recent: See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6sehtctf.aspx After, fixing the bug I quoted: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3527915&group_id=2435&atid=102435 maybe I would not even have to add -DWINVER anymore ;-) 2012/7/5, Earnie Boyd <ea...@us...>: > On Thu, Jul 5, 2012 at 2:35 PM, Paul Dufresne wrote: > >> part which is defined in windef.h. >> I believed ws2tcpip.h should include windef.h or just add the: >> #ifndef _WIN32_WINNT >> #define _WIN32_WINNT WINVER >> # >> > > You should always include windows.h before ws2tcpip.h or any other > windows API header. > >> >> This list observes the Etiquette found at >> http://www.mingw.org/Mailing_Lists. >> We ask that you be polite and do the same.
