Are there any realistic plans to have a solution to bug #3482704 any time soon? I'm asking about the second issue in that bug, namely that quoted wildcards are globbed by latest MSVCRT versions, disregarding the quotes. As more and more people switch to Windows 7 and later versions, more and more MinGW users will hit subtle bugs related to this, when invoking MinGW programs from Windows shells. Consider, for example, fgrep -R foobar . --include="*.c" or ls foo --ignore="*.exe" or diff foo bar -I "something.*" or diff -r dir1 dir2 -x "*.o" or locate -b "foo*.doc" Etc., etc. These are commands I use every day, and I'm sure others do |
