As such, we've done some patches to the msys DLL along the way, but up until now my belief was that all our patches were also proposed to be included upstream. In fact, some time ago Earnie even asked for our changes, and we gladly provided them [1]. Although I didn't follow the MSYS changes closely, I was assuming the only reason for us not using upstream MSYS is that not all of our patches were accepted yet.
