1. I have noticed that for sezero and auto compilers, there averages 7-8 LONG directories for lib path totalling 284-328 characters 5 LONG directories for include path totalling 274-310 characters 1-2 directories for bin path. 2. problem: the include and lib paths change with every release. wanted: merged include directory, merged lib directory, so that it is simpler to use the compiler, as simple as using %mingw64basepath%/include/ and %mingw64basepath%/lib/. 3. strangely enough, on the i686 x64 compiler, g++.exe or any of the short-named tools in the C:\mingw-w64-bin_i686-mingw_20100428_sezero\mingw64\x86_64-w64-mingw32\bin directory does not execute without error. only the long-named tools like x86_64-w64-mingw32-windres.exe in the C:\mingw-w64-bin_i686-mingw_20100428_sezero\mingw64\bin directory execute. as a result, the toolset is not consistent with executable names across i686 32, i686 64, x86_64, meaning, g++.exe on one side and x86_64-w64-mingw32-g++.exe on the other. should all be g++.exe (short names). 4. a BASH shell and MSYS-like tools is needed. preferably without using the curses library. can't build any unix sources or most source trees without them (ugh! it's the dreaded ./configure trap) (actually you can't build any unix sources *with* them either, so I guess this is a moot point). No, I don't have UNIX, and I would prefer not to install it - high maintenance OS. ----------------------------- I am willing to sacrifice frequent releases for a little easier ease of use. I don't know about anyone else. but please at least fix #1-#3 by solving #2 and #3.
