Suppose I have a program 'gzip' and a symbolic link to gzip named 'gunzip' in the same directory. gzip gunzip -> gzip If you move the symbolic link gunzip to another directory, the symbolic link gets broken, because it's a relative link (not pointing to an absolute path). What I wanted was as simple as described in the DJGPP faq I pointed to (http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/v2faq/faq22_5.html). So that I don't need to pack a full copy of a program. I would like to have this working not only in msys, but also in cmd.exe. Preferably also working on older versions of Windows. On Unix this is usually done with symbolic links. A mingw port of 'stubify/stubedit' would make me happy. On the other hand, link support in MSYS is also a good thing. So I liked the discussion. -- Erwin Waterlander Eindhoven http://www.xs4all.nl/~waterlan/ |
