I tried (1) before using mingw gcc. I have cygwin 4.3.4 installed, and configure script reported the same error message about tjhe impossible to generate Win32 executables by cyggwin gcc4.3.4.3. In respect to (2), I prefer to avoid to install another environment at least until exhausting all alternatives using cygwin. What do you suggest me then?
