Hi Chris, I don't know if this is relevant to your problem, but I had a strange intermittent crashing problem with MingW at the end of last year. What happened was that the configure script was generating an incorrect path for a dependent library during the link, yet the link would still complete successfully. Strangely enough, the resulting DLL would work fine, yet one particular routine being called from the dependent library would start jumping off into random memory and crash, yet all the resulting backtraces in GDB were meaningless. I eventually noticed that my build script was spitting out the following Info line during link, where PQntuples was the routine that would always crash: Info: resolving _PQntuples by linking to __imp__PQntuples (auto-import) Fixing the path for the dependant library which was generated by configure caused the above warning to disappear, along with the crash. I have no idea why it was just this one routine that was affected, as the program used several other routines from the same library without any problems. So it you see any lines similar to that above when linking your application against another DLL, you may be suffering from a similar problem. Kind regards, Mark. |
