How about telling us *EXACTLY* what you did in the first place ? This includes providing the *EXACT* command(s) you issued, possibly with output it generates, gcc version installed (gcc -v) as well as the version of mingw-runtime, w32api and binutils you are using. Last not least the environment you are under (WNT/W2K/WXP/...) and the shell you use (cygwin/MSYS/cmd/...) might be helpful as well.
