"All those steps" in my article are really there to make sure that readers do not interpret anything differently from what I intended. It's really quite simple and if you do it once or twice, you do not need to refer back to the article at all. In any case, I'm not promoting that article as the canonical way of building a Linux to MinGW GCC cross compiler or crossed-native compiler. It just documents a particular process that I follow, that works quite well for me and that I hope would be of some use to someone building GCJ for Windows.
