I don't *think* that's significant. While it isn't conventional practice in English writing, to leave extra space between the end of a sentence and the terminal punctuation mark, it does seem to be commonplace among French writers; (although UK based, I work for a French company, and I see this all the time). I suspect that the extra space seen in some places are a relic of the style established by Julien Lecomte, who I guess *is* French, and to whom we owe an enormous debt of gratitude for much of the present FAQ -- thank you, Julien :-) I haven't taken the time to completely review the FAQ, but when I do notice one of these extra spaces, I tend to remove it, to bring the format more into line with conventional English writing style.
